The SEO Blueprint for Local Business Success

We have been laser-focused on transforming our clients’ websites into SEO success stories for years, ensuring they stop losing customers to competitors.

This passion paid off in a big way. Three clients turned into 10, 10 became 50, and before long, we had over 100 clients. Along the way, we refined a system that delivers real, measurable results—a process we still use today.

As Smashing Pixels grew, I brought together an incredible team to handle most of the day-to-day work. This gave me the freedom to focus on two things I’m truly passionate about; helping local businesses grow online and, finally, putting energy into our SEO strategy.

Here’s the truth: if your website isn’t optimized, you’re not just falling behind—you’re actively moving backward. Your competitors aren’t sleeping – they’re working tirelessly to widen the gap between you and them. Every day you wait is another day of lost revenue.

Over the past 18 months, we’ve been heads-down on getting Smashing Pixels to dominate Google for competitive keywords. We play the SEO game to win.

Our approach? It’s the same proven strategy we use for our clients: advanced SEO techniques, constant testing and tweaking based on Google’s response, and—perhaps the hardest part – the waiting. SEO isn’t instant gratification, but when done right, the results are worth it.

If you’re not visible in search results, you don’t exist to most potential customers. In today’s digital landscape, local search has transformed from a nice-to-have into a must-have. Your business needs to appear in local results because when people can’t find you, they find your competitors instead.

And the results speak for themselves. Today, our team of five passionate marketers share the same drive to help local businesses succeed online.

Here’s what’s fueled our growth:

Avatar Of Trevor Cherewka
For over 20 years, I’ve been immersed in the world of sales and marketing, but my real passion took off in 2008. That’s when I noticed a growing need for local businesses to be found online. People were searching for services in their area, yet many businesses didn’t have the tools to be visible. So, I began building websites for small businesses, ensuring they had an online presence that helped them get noticed. In 2010, I dove into social media, understanding how it could transform the way businesses engage with their audience. I wanted to help my clients connect with their customers in meaningful ways. By 2013, my attention shifted to SEO, where I invested in learning everything I could through conferences across the U.S. and Canada. SEO was the future, and wanted to make sure my clients were ready.
