Travels With Baggage is Jody Robbins’ online travel blog. Jody, who had a 400-page website that was in desperate need of an update, came to Smashing Pixels. We were integral in revamping her online presence and moving her old site into her current location. The old website lacked fluidity, vibrancy, and a comprehensive grasp needed when looking at a trustworthy travel blog.

We met with Jody Robbins to help her update her website for her online travel blog “Travels with Baggage.” At the time, Jody’s old website was 400 pages. We worked with Jody to decide which content to bring to the new website. Jody wanted us to create a new website that would showcase her expertise as a travel writer. We agreed on which blogs, comments, and images to move to the new website. We organized the content to give the new website a user-friendly appearance. Jody wanted us to develop a new, vibrant look for her website and ensure we optimized the website for mobile. We also helped Jody identify other areas to include on her website to showcase all that she had to offer her readers. We organized the website into “travel,” “food,” “relationships,” “style,” “health and wellness,” and “good times” landing pages. The final website had a clean and organized appearance. Lastly, we optimized each page for SEO so it would be able to show up at the top of Google search results.

We imported her blogs, comments, and all existing images with our team. We then put together a look and feel for a new website for Jody. The client approved. We also made a few adjustments ensuring the website still had its appeal while mobile-friendly.
