The Challenge
It’s safe to say almost everyone in Brantford knows and has, at one point, been to eat at Sammy’s. It’s a long-time staple, but if you didn’t know, you didn’t know. They had zero web presence. After realizing its importance, they came to Smashing Pixels to help build their digital portfolio that represented all they offer as a staple restaurant in Brantford, ON.

The Process
There were two things that Sammy needed when we worked with them. The first was an online presence. Being a staple in Brantford meant that many third-party travel and restaurant websites already listed Sammy’s as a destination. With no actual online presence of their own, their marketing and everything else was handled by third parties. Bringing everything in-house for them meant that they had total control.
The next thing that we needed to tackle was an online menu. We decided to create an online menu that would not only showcase their appetizers and classic menu but at the same time showcase their weekly specials.
To ensure that the visitor was getting the best user experience possible, we would design the menu to allow visitors to view the entire menu or specific sections.
After completing the website for their other location in Brantford, Sammy’s Rec Room, we worked on this website.
The new website and the online menu would prove even more valuable when COVID-19 hit. This meant that Sammy’s now had their entire menus for both locations online.

The Results
We were able to capture Sammy’s Rec Room and Creamery’s personality and put all of that into their website. The website features menus that you can view on both mobile and desktop.
